Shanee Stepakoff received a MFA in creative writing from the New School in 2009. She was the psychologist for the UN-backed war crimes tribunal in Sierra Leone from 2005 to 2007. Her poems have been published in three issues of J Journal: New Writing on Justice. She has written academic articles for a wide variety of journals, including Feminist Studies, Women and Therapy, The Drama Review, and American Psychologist, and has contributed chapters to five edited books.
