Turkey Point

Shontay Luna

Take me to Turkey Point,
because I can’t stand saddle shoes and
I’m a member of the Drape nation.

Anoint
my soul with Jazz and Blues.
Take me to Turkey Point.

I’d only wear a full skirt at gunpoint.
Using bleach to change the hues.
I’m a member of the Drape Nation.

Halfway through the woods is the checkpoint.
With eyes in search of mainstream clues.
Take me to Turkey Point.

Freedom is our standpoint,
the right to live as we choose.
I’m a member of the Drape Nation.

To be Square is to disappoint
oneself from creative breakthroughs.
Take me to Turkey Point,
I’m a member of the Drape Nation.
