One of the loveliest things in the world, it seems to me, is the artistic impulse–that wordless but almost throbbing whatever-it-is clamoring within you, beating on your insides to be set free. My work is primarily writing and songwriting, but for a long time I’ve continually felt a profound itch to create visual work. Inspiration is often a seemingly pure and unmediated response to intense color or, less often, shape. “Ad Vibe,” for example, came from a crow-like attraction to the colors of a laundry-detergent box. –Tim Myers (2012)
