Mission Creek Festival is the salve for the weary AWP attendee. Nestled in the all welcoming, artsy central, and party your ass off Iowa City, Mission Creek, run by Andre Perry and Joseph Tiefenthaler, will put your faith back in the indies–lit and music alike. DO NOT MISS THIS EVENT! Last year’s event showcased music and writers from all over the US including, Beau Sia, Amber Tamblyn, Derrick Brown, Alan Heathcock, Jensen Beach, Rae Bryant, and many more. Eckleburg joined other journals at the book fair including Granta, A Public Space, Write Bloody Publishing, Wag’s Revue, Black Clock, PANK, Hobart, Featherproof and many more. One of the many highlights of the festival was a performance by comedian David Cross, at the Englert Theatre.
