The Washington Post Going Out Guide | Literary Washington: Where to get your fix when the book festival ends

clip_washingtonpost_liberiaGood article at The Washington Post on where to go and what to do in the D.C. literary scene. Nice mention of Eckleburg, though, the preeminent placement of Politics & Prose as THE bookstore is concerning, as P&P is far more interested in national commercial publishing than the local D.C. literary scene, indie lit, etc. Bucks over art and local writers, many of whom P&P banned from the signing tent at last year’s Gaithersburg Book Festival. If you’re looking for nationally recognized, rock star status literary authors or Twilight, P&P is generally your place.

Indie lovers, check out KramerBooks & Afterwords Cafe–1517 Connecticut Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20036.
