Eckleburg: What captures your interest most in your work, now, as a reader of your work?

Glen Pourciau: In my opinion, every reader brings at least a slightly different reading to a story. As I read my stories I’m thinking of ways they can be interpreted and the power of readers’ imaginations as they process the text. The reader is a living part of the story.

Eckleburg: What are you working on now?

Glen Pourciau: I’m always working on more stories. They’re getting shorter these days. My mind seems to want to shrink them.

Eckleburg: Who and what are your artistic influences?

Glen Pourciau:

The two writers who have influenced me most are Franz Kafka and Harold Pinter. Pinter gave me a focus on how much could be expressed in just a few words of dialogue. His dialogue still rings in my head. Kafka is the writer who brought me to writing. I feel in my bones the experience of first reading Kafka. Tone, tone, tone in both writers.
