Counsel

I crush out a cigarette when I see you coming
now my ears are ringing
a soft breeze blows me right into your heart
what a tangled cloverleaf of intentions
chemicals and old shocks
you’ve already been through the ringer
I can see that
but after a little dismantling post mortem
a run-down of all the events that led up to this
you’ll be free
and we can go down to the lounge
and forget the whole thing happened
