Author: Philippe Cottin

Born in Paris (February 9th 1966). Cottin painted early in his youth, worked as a photographer, then decided to paint again. He alternates between these disciplines feeding off each other. He is interested by the invisible connections, the hidden links, the games of transparency, the false combinations, and the subliminal sides inherent to all representations, the one of the body, of a space or an event. He is also intrigued by coincidences and accidents during the production process, chance, lack of consistency and the vertue that results.
